Interesting Thoughts
Thoughts on Course
- There is a lot of talk about how hilly and long the walk is at Marco Simone. Some refer to it as a “golf cart course”. Many believe that the course will make it hard for anyone to play 5 matches.
- Most experts believe “long and straight” is the key skill (wow hitting it long and straight is gonna be key?!?)
- Water comes into play on 6 holes - Andy Lack called Marco Simone “European PGA National”
Thoughts on Players
- Sophie Walker had an interesting comment on the Pinnacle Betting Preview (link below). She said that the American rookies in the Solheim Cup said it was incredibly difficult being a rookie on European soil. Will this matter for the US Rookies (Harman, Homa, Clark, Burns)?
- My opinion on who will play all 5 matches: Rory, Rahm and Hovland…maaaybe Scheffler
- Scottie Scheffler is working with a new putting coach - he’s been terrible on the greens and amazing through the air
Projected Pairings (Wait till Friday morning pairings are announced before betting)
USA
- Xander Schauffele / Patrick Cantlay (There is almost no way this team is ever split up)
- Justin Thomas / Jordan Spieth (Not as good as Xander/Cantlay but should go out together…JT at risk of getting benched quickly though)
- Scottie Scheffler / Sam Burns (Burns could be yanked from Scottie if he doesn’t play great)
- Colin Morikawa and Max Homa (More solid than people think)
Europe
- Jon Rahm and Tyrell Hatton (Only one I feel confident on)
- I think you will see Aberg, Hovland and Rory play with each other and then Fleetwood, Lowry, Rose and Fitzpatrick rotate with each other. Not very confident in this though
How to watch:

Sunday: 5:30am EST to 1:00pm EST (NBC, fubo, Rydercup.com)
Betting Tip of the Week:
- When playing DFS, remember that players are 100% correlated with their partners on day 1 and day 2. They are inversely correlated with their opponents (but not 100%)
- Everyone who starts in the Friday Morning Wave will have insanely high ownership in traditional DFS - but it’s most likely warranted because they will play more matches on average
